Today was the day that Emma was able to go and meet her new teacher Miss Hailey. I have been so very nervous about this meeting and about the transition in general.
1. Emma does not handle change well
2. Emma does not always like new people
3. Mommy does not handle change well
4. Mommy hates to leave her daughter when she is upset
You can see the reason for worry...as much for my sake as Emma's. :-( But all that was for not!!!
The Early Primary 4 class that Emma will be in had switched back to their summer schedule for this week and next due to the hot temperatures. This means that the class was out on the playground when we arrived so Emma was able to get some real one on one time with Miss Hailey! She did three lessons with her new teacher and didn't even notice or care when I left the room. I was able to watch from a window and snap some great photos!!
Selecting her work and bringing it to a table
Putting it on the table and pulling out the chair to sit down.
Fine motor skill work with finger transfer (also know as practical life work)
trying out another bit of work and another table
checking out her options
More finger transfer with pretty rocks
Miss Hailey said she didn't have to explaine the lessons to Emma, she just knew what she needed to do!
I can't tell you how much better I fell after this visit!!!
After we said our goodbyes we were off to JLH. I swear every day is getting harder and harder! Today when we got there we realized that it was Miss LaLa's last day with Emma because she is off on Fridays. That brought tears to my eyes but Emma gave hugs and kisses and I was able to catch one!
Words really can't express how amazing this woman has been with Emma!! She was Emma's very first teacher and we will always remember her!
Emma's class was on their play place when we got there so she walked out and RAN to Miss Sheri! Miss Sheri has been another wonderful constant in Emma's life and she has taught her soooo very much! I couldn't be happier with JLH and I want them all to know that!!!
And our bestie Elle!!
We will be keeping in touch with this little beauty for years to come! As a matter of fact this weekend there will be a play date in their future!
Well that is the Thursday update. :-)
Be blessed!
Jill

Hope you and Emma love Montessori as much as we do! :-)
Emma will do great! Is Jamie still thinking about switching Elle over too?
Have fun on your play date this weekend! And tell Jamie we said hello!
