Brinkley

I would love some prayers for my fur baby Brinkley Geisler Wheeler. This weekend I felt some lumps on his neck and yesterday Michael took him in. They ran initial blood work and saw nothing. Took samples from three different lymph nodes (turns out the lumps were actually his swollen lymph nodes) When the lab got the results they still didn't see anything so they sent the results to OSU and they found the markers for lymphoma. They are going to take biopsies on Tuesday and send them directly to OSU. We should hear back in 5 days and IF its lymphoma he could have as little as 4-8 weeks. I need prayers for strength and understanding and knowledge, compassion and understanding for his vet!!

Do you hear what I hear...

***warning...this post will contain a LOT of pictures!***

Well I can tell you that I am  pretty sure Emma doesn't. :-( Good news is that the pneumonia is gone...bad news is that she had another ear infection in her right ear. After I picked her up from school on Monday I saw what looked like blush on her jawline, but that turned out to be a little bit of dried blood from her ear. I figures she just needed a hat with ear flaps but Michael being the responsible parent suggested I take her to the doc. They confirmed what I suspected and she did have another ear infection so that is another round of antibiotics.

But that did mean we got to get Daddy to stop on his way home for a new hat with ear flaps!!

Don't worry though...she loves her hat and we have since been back to the ENT and tubes are securely in place and looking great.

We took advantage of the slightly cooler weather we had for a bit to put on our Bama Jammies again and this time the nose made the shot.

When asked what she thought Alabama's ranking was she got it right on the nose! #1 they are. ;-)

Then we had to water a new patch of lawn...this was Emma leaning into the sprinkler as it dripped water on her!

We made a new discovery...Emma is now officially fire hydrant sized!

We had our first school pictures at Montessori but first we had to say "Hi" to the concrete dog at Dog Party.

Speaking of Montessori, Emma is still loving it!  She dis working on finger transfer work and reading (well she is holding books and making noises so it's a start for sure!)

This is the guilty face of someone who's been eating the berries off the vine.  Not sure what kind they are but they sure are Emma's favorite.  Mommy and Miss Lauren tried one and they were sour with a big seed but Emma doesn't seem to mind!

I have also been to Nashville to the Gaylord Opryland Resort and Convention Center for NACADA's national convention. Here is the swanky digs I got to stay in.

My co-presenter Jennifer Coldiron was also able to make it and I was SOOOO excited! I did NOT want to present at the national level without my wing man!

We took advantage of being in Music city to hear live music every night even if that meant walking 15 minutes and crossing a busy 5 lane road (not at a crosswalk) to make it happen. I know...rebels!

I was staying in the Delta wing and one day on my way back to my room I looked up and spotted it, Delta Delta Delta! ;-)

While I was gone I got some photo updates to let me know that Emma was doing great while I was gone

Dinner night two brought some yummy food and ...
A picture with the closest thing we could find to a real life cowboy. This is my new Canadian friend and she had never seen a cowboy and while she wanted a picture with one she didn't want it alone...so here we both are. He later sang at the bar we were at and one day he might make it!

Michael went to take a hunters education for Ft. Chaffey and Emma got to stay with one of her favorite baby sitters...and was asleep at 10:30 am while watching some Tangled.

Saturday came and Jenn and I were ready! We had practiced the whole thing twice together and then at least once on my own. Thanks to MeMe even if I didn't sound like I knew what I was talking about at least I looked the part!

That night it was time to celebrate! Jenn, Shane and I all went out to Wildhorse Saloon. to get our boot scooting on!

The weather turned cold on Saturday and of course I didn't bring a coat but MeMe comes through again! She allowed me to get a cute faux leather jacket and a sparkly "Nashville" shirt. Best part of the night was when we were in the Silver Dollar and the bands were changing. A guy walks up to me and asks if I am the next band...All serious and NO come on! ;-) I thanked him and kindly said no.

We had such a wonderful time but I was so happy to get back home to my little girl! I made it back just in time for a fall photo shoot with Jessica Ritchie I will share the one that she shared with us here but we will have to keep a lid on the others...Christmas is coming up soon!

Now to more recent happenings. Poppy came up for a visit on Friday and we packed in as much fun as she could stand!!! First we went off to the craft fair at the John Q Hammons Center to see a good buddy and show off one of her dresses!

I promise Emma has more Razorback stuff than Alabama but this month the other UofA has won out on the clothing scene.

We started the day off with a delicious breakfast from Crackle Barrel.

Emma road the horsey by the fireplace with an actual fire in it!

And after Poppy was done Emma found a little syrup left in one of his bottles!

After a quick wardrobe change we made our way to Farmland Adventure for a little Corn Maze action but the start of the show was the cornbox!

We walked around with Poppy

Fed the goats                                                          Posed with a pumpkin

All in all it was a great outing and we had a blast with Poppy!
After nap look what I found in Emma's bed...looks like some of the corn box made it home with us.

The fun wasn't over for Saturday because that night Brinkley and Gabby were invited to a party at Dog Party USA They went as my two squirrely dogs!

And Emma rocked last years cupcake outfit!

Brinkley is a WIZ at sitting and this is the second year that we have one puppy musical chairs. The key is that your dog must sit before you are allowed to and I had the added bonus of carrying Emma too! :-D If you want to see it for yourself enjoy!! Musical Chairs

We started out our Sunday with a trip to church and that means crayons and some kind of blocks for Emma.

I know that people probably think "she should be in the nursery", "doesn't she know we provide a nursery" "why isn't that kid in the nursey?" but the truth is she spends more than 1/2 her life away from me at daycare and if I can get us up and going on a Sunday the last thing I want to do is put her in childcare. And anyway, I got the message for the day: God wants me to be me! :-) And right now and for as long as I live I am a MOMMY!

We went home and had a little lunch and then off to a early nap because there was another corn maze in our future. I decided that she will only get to wear her cute Halloween outfit a few more times so better do it again. We met the Russell's and the Dura's out at Ozark Corn Maze and this time we actually went in the maze. Although we had no idea where we were going we got some cute shots!
(and if we really got lost Luke could always just look over the corn to find the way out!)

We really loved the corn...and yes she did eat some!

This was our one shot on the cow train. It was a hit!

And one would think that this was the end of our fun filled weekend but you would be wrong. We still had the Montessori Fall Carnival to attend!!! We quickly changed cloths and headed to Fayetteville. It was hot and both these little red riding hoods were feeling it!

But just when we thought we couldn't take it any longer look who made it!!!

Daddy made it home from a 3 day drill weekend just in time to try some berries. and not that I am complaining, but the three he tried were sweet! The carnival wrapped up and we helped tidy up Emma's room and then off to the house for some relaxation!

That's what has happened in the last three weeks...and I don't see my life slowing down anytime soon!!!

Be blessed!
Jill

Oh and Sunday we woke up and it appears that Emma's passy is "broken" or at least the tip has been cut off. I was surprised that she did so well with the news that it was broken and she kept asking to chew on it. BUT it falls out lots quicker so hopefully this is the beginning of the end for "fassie" keep us in your thoughts and prayers that all continues to go smoothly! :-)
